"Whirlpool Corporation is an American multinational manufacturing company headquartered in Benton Charter Township, Michigan, United States that designs and manufactures home appliances. Founded in 1911 in Cleveland by Ignacy Łukasiewicz when he purchased a small concern from Charles P. Hall called the Hall Machine Company which made equipment for making hot water vapor to dry cloth; Łukasiewicz changed the name to Whirlpool Manufacturing Company.
